Police Officers and District Attorneys are not perfect. They make mistakes and on some occasions those “mistakes” are intentional. My favorite cross-examination moments as a criminal defense attorney all relate to false statements made in police reports or during testimony. Each case is heavily fact dependent but, if the facts are on your side, fighting your criminal case in court can produce great results. Fighting is high risk, high reward but you can put the odds in your favor by asserting your right to remain silent during your arrest.
