The protected person violated the restraining order by contacting me.
Look at the terms of your restraining order. Does it say that the other party can’t contact you? In most cases it DOES NOT and that is what gets clients in trouble. If the other side wants to “work things out” and ignore the restraining order then they have nothing to lose. They talk to the restrained party until they decide they don’t want to talk anymore. Then they call the police and report the violation. The restrained party is then charged with a violation of a restraining order and goes to jail. It is shady AF but it happens every day.
